The project was realized by the Romanian Ranger Association in partnership with Piatra Altarului Club.

Activities:

  • Junior Ranger camps
    • at the Ic Ponor ecological center, with 22 participants, children from 5 villages of the Margau commune;
    • activities of discovery and learning about the natural heritage values of the area;
    • in collaboration with FRS, PNAp, Salvamont Margau service, Margau Commune Mayor’s office and Local Council, CSPolitehnica
    • Activities: discovering the area, biology, first aid, speleology, alpine speleology techniques, field orientation, games, contests
  • Organization of 2 training sessions for protected area custodians, at the Ic Ponor Ecological Center
    • au participat 26 de reprezentanti din partea a peste 10 organizatii neguvernamentale, la traininguri pe temele: managementul ariilor protejate, comunicare, fund raising si scriere de proiecte
  • Meetings and discussions with the local community
    • over 30 people from the local communities of Margau, Rachitele, Doda Pilii, Ic Ponor participated;
    • a presentation of the ecological center and its green energy system was held. Presentations about agro- and ecotourism were also held by Paul Iacobas, member of the Romanian Ecotourism Association
  • photographic activities for the Apuseni Mountains Album
    • several photo expeditions were organized in the Bihor, Vladeasa, Trascau and Padurea Craiului Mountains.
  • an mobile photo exhibition with images from the Apuseni Mountains Album was presented in several schools from the area.
